3rd, 2nd & Kindergarten

Here it is...proof that I will get my sanity back and my house clean.

I CANNOT believe this day has come for my "youngest."

Home from their first week. All smiles, over-exaggerate whining and hungry tummies from lack of eating at all hours of the day.

I might take a nap with Tatum one of these days!

Episode 9 - Popsicles & Bacon Maple Popcorn

One night I got it in my head that I wanted to try a popcorn idea. Mom, Janna and I took a root beer popcorn recipe and altered it by adding maple and bacon. We felt that it needed some improvement so we made the necessary alterations and that is how we came up with our Bacon Maple Popcorn recipe. (We had no problem eating the entire experiment batch.)

A very unique and delicious (and naughty) treat. I would definitely make it again! I love salty bacon with sweet maple so this was a home run for me.

Bacon Maple Popcorn

8 oz bacon

1 cup popcorn kernals

½ cup butter

½ cup light corn syrup

2 tsp maple flavoring

Pop the popcorn in a hot air popper, set aside in a large bowl.

Fry up the bacon until brown and crips then chop into small pieces, set aside.

Mix the rest of the ingredients in a small saucepan and bring to a boil for 1 minute – no more. Add maple flavoring. Spread on popped popcorn until coated. Mix in chopped bacon until completed incorporated. Enjoy!
