It started last Friday as I was invited to Muffins for Moms in Eden's classroom and it was a half hour brunch with some mom songs at the end. Eden makes me proud everyday.
Saturday night Rob headed to the store to get provisions for Sunday's meal. The one thing he was told not to come home without was a bag of jelly belly jellybeans. So, from the store, he called me and one by one, he asked me if I wanted a certain flavor and I told him how much to get. He came home with Sizzling Cinnamon, Buttered Popcorn, Bubble Gum and Black Licorice. He got quite a few chuckles as his cell was on speaker phone while he talked to me about the flavors. We had a good laugh over that.
Sunday's early morning meeting was cancelled and so I went to church with the family at 9:00am. About half way through the first meeting, my eye began to swell, itch and drip. I decided I need to go home and take out my contacts and rest so after church, Rob took me home and I went right to bed.
I woke up to a chicken dinner with mashed potatoes, roasted asparagus, french bread and my very own personal watermelon. I commented on how Rob only cooked up half of the french bread and he said he left the other half for me to eat plain later since he knows how much I LOVE bread. He really does know me!! (Also included by my plate was the bag of jelly beans I requested.) I was also treated to my very first orchid. Rob remembered that I had never had one so that is what he got for flowers.
After a delicious meal, I found myself outside in the unbelievably beautiful sunshine just swaying in the hammock. All that laying around made me exhausted so I went upstairs and took my second nap.
We finished the day off with Rob doing the dishes and putting the kids down while I laid on the couch watching the Amazing Race.
I really had a delightful day and owe it all to my wonderful husband and kids. The kids even sensed the enormity of my special day and were very generous with their "Happy Mother's Day" wishes and hugs.
