This is my Boehm Porcelain Nativity Set that retails for over $3000 that I paid $10 for at a yard sale 2 years ago...except there is a little something added as of Friday.

1 Olivia...free to a home that doesn't have nice things to ruin.
I have nothing more to say.
The End.

Did you try a Mr. Clean Magic Eraser? It got sharpie off of my kitchen counters and cabinets a few years back. Sharpies "live" much higher in our house, and they move on a regular basis so the kids can't find them. I am so sorry this happen at your house!
Oh, the cow! I'm so sorry Rachel. Come next mMnday, Jann, Jace, and I will race her around the house till she's too tired to cause any damage. We'll tag team it :) Can't wait to see you and to meet Tatum.
Oh man! Just dump her off on 169, no need to wait for her to sell! :) Just kidding...that's so frustrating. Yes...I keep our markers and sharpies WAY OUT OF REACH of our kiddos. Good luck!
For real you should borrow my alcohol ink solvent if you haven't got it off yet! It looks worse than I thought when you described it, probably because the set it so large and beautiful!
I second the Magic Erasers. They are AMAZING!!! They got out what nothing else could, including bleach. Now if only it could get out the softball size of hard carpet from Jacob dumping the fabric glue... that would be great.
Oh Rachel...I feel your pain. Jenae decided to personalize ALL of her gorgeous bedroom furniture with sharpie a few months back. I haven't even tried yet to get it off. I don't have the emotional stamina...
let me know how your quest to remove goes.
Oh, and BTW for all of you that "hide" your sharpies...you don't have children that will hunt them down until mission has been accomplished. Rachel and I...well...we do.
I have tried a magic eraser, nail polish remover, alcohol, goo gone, spit and tears but nothing. I might just paint the whole set pink and call it a day.
Hi Rachel, I remember reading about using hair spray to remove permanent marker from things.I've used it on clothing when second hand to remove previous owners name, and on a precious collectible doll amongst other things. Would recommend trying on an inconspicuous spot first to check it doesn't damage the finish, etc but give that a go.
I'll take her. :)
Don't hate me for saying this, but she did 'highlight' the shadowed areas artistically, I'll give her that..... :)
Bless ya...so sorry...
Yay, for preschool 3 x a week right? :)
I.Would.Die.
Oh, no, no, NO! I say you keep the set and make her display it at her house when she grows up. Even in her room as a teenager. And maybe artistically highlight some of HER favorite dolls, too. :) I'm so sorry!!
I feel for you, how sad.
Alyssa is 12 and I still keep all colored pencils, markers, highlighters, paints, pencils, pens - all under wraps or she has a heyday using up all the papers in our house and getting too lost in her daydreaming. She would draw 24/7 if I let her, drawing anything and everything. Sounds like you need a marker safe too!
That is awesome! I am really shocked that nothing has taken it off though...
I second the hairspray comment... I have used hairspray before to get ink off a doll.
otherwise you could gesso it and let all the kids paint a different piece. At least you know you got it at a garage sale.
