Tooth Fairies UNITE!!!

Since the tooth fairy has forgotten to pick up the tooth a couple of times at our house, I am sending this out to whom it may concern just so the tooth fairy and I are on the same page.
Dear Tooth Fairy,
In our house, it seems that you forget to pick up teeth about half the time so I wanted to go over the ground rules one more time with you to make sure we understand each other correctly.

1. If a child loses a tooth after 9:00pm, you will not be able to come until the next night because you have already left for your rounds for the evening.

· Is this correct? Because this is what happened with Eden and that was what I told her the next morning.

2. If a child loses a tooth before 9:00pm but it is on the weekend, you will not be able to come until Monday night because you don't work weekends, just like daddy.

· Is this correct? Because that is what happened to Indiana just last night and that is what I told him.

3. The allowance per tooth is exactly $1, no more no less (even if a child begs for more.)

· Is this correct? Due to inflation over the years, I understand that the dime I received when I was a kid just won't cut it anymore but in our house, the price needs to be consistent across the board so $1 is appropriate.

If I understand these rules correctly, allow me to lay down one rule of my own:

  • Please make sure you don't forget to come when a child loses a tooth before 9:00pm on a weekday... or you will be in BIG trouble.

As a child I can remember being so excited to see if you had come and when I felt that shiny dime in the cloth of my tooth fairy pillow, I would smile from ear to ear. But if I felt the tooth, it told me you forgot and my world came crashing down. Now, as a parent, I understand that there are reasons rules but please know I can only cover for you so many times before I will have to dismiss you from their childhood dreams. And that it always a sad day indeed.

Thanks for all your hard work being discrete.

R. Atwood
