Rob took me out to a really nice restaurant in Kirkland last night called Cafe Juanita. It featured Northern Italian Cuisine. This wasn't your Chicken Alfredo and Pizza joint, it was authentic food you might have...when in Rome. It was lovely and I tried quail for the first time in my life. I liked it and it helped that it was in a blood orange and pomegranate reduction. Yum. We were there with our good friends the Lane's and Rob was even sophisticated enough to give Kevin a lesson on tying a double windsor in the middle of the restaurant. We got some evil stares from that one.
We then were snubbed by our waitress when we mentioned we were not going to partake of the desserts (hot chocolate for $12, I don't think so) and we headed to downtown Bellevue to The Melting Pot. The receptionist just laughed at us when we asked if we could just have dessert. There was no room for walk-ins, reservations only. We ended up outside The Cheesecake Factory for cheesecake under the patio heaters.
Good laughs, good friends and good food.
So, here we are tonight on the official Valentine's Day observed and we have decided a nice evening with my Cheater Chunky Chicken Noodle Soup and homemade Rocky Road Ice Cream while we watch Dumb and Dumber in our pjs. Sounds nice doesn't it? Give us a call, we would love to have you for dessert!
