The Green River Marathon/Relay...Finally!

(First of all, I don't want you to be jealous of my sweet farmer's tan. This took weeks of sitting in the sun, fully clothed. It is an art that few have mastered.)

With the computer being in the "shop" for 9 days and a bad case of Asthmatic Bronchitis for me, I haven't devoted a single second to anything other than breathing. Therefore, the blog has taken a hit.
On June 6, I took part in the Green River Marathon Relay with some friends from church. We really had a good time and I am sure we were quite the site as we hobbled into Panera Bread afterward for lunch. Our team finished in 4 hrs 55 minutes for the 26.2 mile stretch. Our overall average was a 11.25 minute mile...not quite smokin' fast but we are thrilled with our attempt. A couple of us did 10 miles while others ranged from 5-7 miles each.

(This is me before I have started something crazy. Notice the smile?)

My specified leg was from mile marker 10.2 to 15.5 and then I mistakingly jumped back in at mile marker 24 to finish the race. By that time, after a 1 and 1/2 hour cool down, my joints were stiff and mad. I was in so much pain, I walked the last 2 miles. I have learned that once I get started, there is no stopping if I plan to finish...REALLY good info for my upcoming 1/2 marathon!

(After my 5.3 mile leg, still happy!)
Just after the race, I came down with a nasty 10 day sickness that ended up being Asthmatic Bronchitis with a side of Sinusitus. Unfortunately it has taken me out of my running shoes for quite some time now and I am VERY anxious about my race that is in t-minus 10 days. My breathing is no where near normal so this is going to be a real challenge.

(Here I am finally at the finish line...can you tell the difference in my smile? I am actually frantically searching for the ambulance in the crowd. This is when my knees were fully engulfed in flames. If you look close enough, you can see smoke billowing out behind me and it isn't from my lightening fast speed.)
Thanks to all my supporters and my biggest fans. This is huge for me.
