Monday's Memorial Memories

Every year, Memorial Day comes and goes and we eat some hot dogs and BBQ some chicken and we sit around because it is a day off from work and school. The past couple of years, we have decided we can pay tribute to those who gave us the freedom to eat hot dogs without fear of oppression. Or something like that.

Last year we went to Tahoma National Cemetery and enjoyed the beautiful weather while memories were shared of those who died and wreaths were laid.

This year, due to the weather, we scouted out a local and small cemetery and enjoyed a brief dedication to a few. It was simple and sweet. My kind of party.

After the three gun salute, the kids collected their "gold."

Later, mischievous kids found their way to the neighborhood storage pond and got a little over excited about the peeking sunshine by helping themselves to the pool.

Trouble with her boots full of water.
