3rd on the 4th

I took 3rd place in the Maple Valley 4th of July Pie Baking Contest for the 18-49 year olds. I baked a strawberry rhubarb pie with a rosemary infused crust.

I won a $25 gift card to Cutter's Point, a free haircut and gift card to SportsClips, a lunch tote, some candy and ribbon. So excited!!

Do you see the little flecks for fresh rosemary in there?

The first place winner won with a 3 berry pie that looked gorgeous. I find that it is the berry pies that wow them every year...that's my little tip for ya.

Rob and I by the lake.

We celebrated the 4th with a neighborhood BBQ and bike parade...(and you had to wear eskimo boots in the 85 degree weather, it was required)

Rob's brother Tim joined us for the day and Tatum sat happily in his arms with Spot.

Tatum LOVED the firewords. I asked her what she thought and she promptly applauded.

I would have to agree. The day with it's beautiful sunny weather, fun prizes, good food and friends, family and remembering our country's independence needs a round of applause.
