"T&A" July 6, 2011

With tonsils the size of golf balls, it was time. Suffering from sleep apnia and acid reflux, Eden was overdue for a tonsillectomy and adenoidectomy. She was, believe it or not, super excited and talked for months of eating only ice cream and popsicles. We did not dampen her spirits but instead loaded up on gatorade and sherbet for the big event.

When first admitted in the surgery center, they took our picture so they would be able to associate mom & child (and dog) in the chart. They let you keep it when it's all over.

This is the before...

Now ready in her gown and showing off what would be no more in a few short minutes.

Watching tv with her trusted pal, spot.

Watching the IV being inserted.

Showing off her newest friend, Goochy the jellyfish, given to her by the nurses. She is into the stuffed animal phase right now so she was very excited for that gift.

Getting silly...and sleepy.

She was wheeled off into the sunset and I waited the hour in the waiting room. A pretty quick procedure and then I was called back and warned of a possible angry patient.

As with any patient coming out of anesthetics, she was hilarious. Barely able to follow direction, honory and she guzzled 4 cans of apple juice.

She just wanted the stupid IV out.

Pain started to kick in and she was NOT happy. No one told her is was going to hurt. This was supposed to be a vacation from nutrition. A little Lortab fixed her right up.

Freezing to death, she road the 4 wheeled chair coaster outside to the sunny outdoors. She was really a trooper and has recovered well.
