It was somebody's grand idea (said with heavy sarcasm, a lot of eye rolling and finger pointing toward my own chest) for each family to make a family flag in 2010 for our coast trip. We carried the tradition into 2011 but we have decided to make it a 2-year tradition and have dropped it like a bag of bricks. It is too much stress trying to come up something creative about your family. The idea of sewing, cutting, painting, gluing and thinking is just far too much work for most human beings so enjoy while it lasts.
Our theme was "Laying Up Treasures In Heaven" with a hearty pirate dialect attached. We went with pirate flags, treasure hunts and a trip to Captain Dan's Pirate Pastry Shop.
