We took advantage of the first real day of Spring here and its 70 degree weather and took a day trip up North to the Tulip Festival. What an amazing valley and what a wonderful getaway. We enjoyed the small town parade in LaConner where the kids were showered with candy, necklaces, toys and up front seats. Then we headed onto Tulip Town to see the 1000 acres of tulips (not all in bloom yet) to get some amazing pictures. The crappiest part...long lines in traffic. We spend an hour going a mile and a half back to the freeway just to go home. (Mental Note: go on a weekday, minus the kids with a girlfriend who might appreciate the road-side produce stands, art shows and local festival boutiques.) The kids couldn't get enough of the parade but they were more interested in hopping from row to row in the tulips rather than the tulips themselves. We had a beautiful time!!!

Your pictures are wonderful. I told Chris I wanted to go to the Thanksgiving Point tulip festival here and he wasn't hip on the idea but now that I've seem your photos, were going!! I wish we had 70 degrees here. It's snowed for the past 2 days, ugh!
