I am pretty sure it is a requirement for all moms to have one of "those days" once a while to keep us humble. Right when we are thinking we have a good handle on things and the schedule is smooth and purrin' like a kitten, our kids become possessed and smoke noticably starts floating out my ears. If you could have been here today, you might have imagined seeing actual flames.

I decided that I didn't think my children were getting enough sleep so I threw them in the bath (normally I would have skipped this step but Olivia had tear lines down the chalk and dirt on her face) and then had them promptly in bed by 6:30! Oh the joy of early darkness in the autumn.
It is now 7:18pm and all is quiet (except for the crying, screaming and gnashing of teeth coming from upstairs) and the hair on my head has reduced to a warm smolder. The best part...the part that really gets my panties in a twist...Rob hasn't even called from work letting me know he is on his way home yet. He always misses all the fun.
If anyone needs me, I will be in my bed with a cookbook and my box of chocolates.

Oh, I feel your pain! It's been quite a joyous day in our household too. And...I was thinking that things were going well this morning. Sorry you had such a stinker of a day. We had cereal for dinner...that's how excited I was to cook for my "crabbies" tonight!
Oh how I needed this reminder...that I'm not the only mother whose children are stinks at times! I love your candor and humor and honesty!!!! I'm sorry about your day and here is to a better tomorrow! Thank you for the fun read.
What was it with today?!? My two "darlings" were nightmares this morning. I DID lose my head, but thankfully had to regain my composure once we arrived to dance class (10 minutes late) and to all my smiling friends. Guess they all had "smooth" mornings! ;)
Adjust my attitude, throw dem firey daggers o' death from yo' eyeballs, but please, Missus Rachel, please, please don' ever make me eat yo' sweet 'n sour chicken 'n sticky rice! (Or anything else wonderful that you cook!)

I thought you have been looking thinner in your pictures. Congrats on the working out. I have those kind of days all the time and it's really hard to fight the urge to eat everything in site. By the way, do you know what the nutrition info is on your lemon tart? It looks really, really good but I need nutrition info to enter into the bodybugg site.
My hair is smoking stubble.
ps. I got my grain blog going.
