Goodbye Summer Sun

Goodbye flip-flop tan lines and sand between my toes...the rain is on its way.

I am feeling a bit nostalgic this week because I know the sun is on its way out and I don't know if it will be back before June. I have been soaking up every last ounce, topping off my resevoir to last me for the next few months. Rob and I realized that we live in the land of a thousand lakes and have yet to experience the "beaches."

Today we sought the advice of the Zappe's and headed to Gene Coulon Beach Park. Lots of clean sand, open space and shallow, clean water. Our little Livs was up to her neck in fun and we soaked up about 3 hours of sun. Rob even got some snorkeling in with the kids in tow.

Thanks to Sacajawea Sings, we tried out Dash Point State Park Beach on Saturday and enjoyed a lovely afternoon making sand angels. We are so used to the Pacific coast that this was a little bit of a wake up call. The puget sound isn't quite the same. We loved it though and came through with some lovely pics of the kids.

From the looks of the pictures, it looks like you weren't at Dash Point at low tide. That's the best time to be there. We love it. Shallow water and plenty of good moist sand for sand castles. If you go at the right time of year, the sand dollars are all over the place.

not to be a spoil sport, but Rob is most likely snorkeling and not scuba diving :) scuba is with the tanks and the air hoses. Still, you've having more fun than we are waiting for our child to decide its time to come out and play!
