Olivia For Sale!---FREE!

For some reason, the tides are against me today or I am coming off a Mother's Day high, either way, it hasn't been a particularly wonderful day for me and my children. Aside from all the bad attitudes, Olivia found the time to rip open a box of Fruit Loops. I had just bought it as a treat for the kids since it came free with the purchase of two gallons of milk. I never get fun cereal and so here it is, Olivia found it, opened it and proceeded to get a huge amount of enjoyment by throwing handfuls down the stairwell. I did not catch her until the bag was completely empty. I am past the yelling stage today so I just stared at it. While I put Indy in charge of vacuuming it all up, (he thought it was a great game) Olivia escaped off to the bathroom and proceeded to put every stuffed animal we have directly into the toilet to see how much water they would soak up. (I will spare you the picture of that.) There was toilet water on every inch of floor and her pajamas were more like a wet rag. Once again...staring, disbelief, ready to give up, run screaming out the front door and keep on going until I ran out of breath (which would be until the end of the cul-de-sac at this point in my life.)

So...after showering her and adding an extra load of laundry to my list, I hear the kids screaming that Olivia is doing something again so I go outside to investigate and I am horrified.

The descruction pictured here is Rob's prized Bonsai plants. He baby's these things and was just looking optomistic that most survived through the winter and the move. Olivia, of course, kicked every one of them off the wall and many lost all their soil and so trees were uprooted. Not a good thing when you are a delicate bonsai. Every day Rob grabs a stool and goes out to his beloved plants and weeds, trims, sings to them, until he is sure they are safe and doing well. He is not going to be happy. Olivia got a small swat on the butt since it was her third strike within 20 minutes. I did my best to repot but still, I almost started crying. I know that I get emotional when the few things I am attached to in my life are ruined by careless children. Sooo....does anyone want to take this fiery blonde off my hands for a week?

Is Monday over yet? Who wants a cereal that turns your pee green anyway?

Oh Rachel, I feel for you. I wish I could come up to Washington and just be around the house for you. I love you tons, you're doing a great job raising your kids, you really are.

I'm sorry your day has been difficult. Sometimes when my kids (usually Bethany or Croydon) do stuff like this I often say, "why do you have to be so normal" to them. I have also learned that when they are bored for whatever reason, they tend to get into more mischeif. You derserve extra brownie points for staying calm. I'm not always that good! :o)

Hi Rachel! I LOVE your post- if it makes you feel any better, I had a good laugh the whole way through. Guess it'll be my turn next. And heaven knows, I'm sure it'll be right around the corner. Glad to hear you survived. ;)
