My Mother's Day Gift and My Cereal Deal

I have been fighting my printer for the past year now. It likes to choose when to function properly and I have tried hitting it, yanking plugs out and reinstalling it but for some reason, it is iffy at best. I think because we have had our computer for about 6 years now and it has had its share of problems and the printer is near 4 or 5 years old, between them both, there are obstacles and gliches that can't be repaired with money. It was time to either replace the printer or the computer and the printer was cheaper. So for Mother's Day, Rob told me I was to buy myself a printer and so yesterday it finally came!!

Also, every few months or so, Albertson's runs a great deal on cereal. When you buy 10 boxes (of a specified ounce limit) at $20 you get $10 off so it makes each box just $1. If you aren't at the store the first day of the sale at 9am, your choices are few and far between. That is where my shopping skill comes in. Instead, I saunter in at my earliest convenience throughout the week, browse the isle to confirm the empty shelves and then go straight to the customer service desk and ask for a raincheck. Then, 2 weeks later, I go in and get my pick of the fully stocked shelves. You can request as much as you want on the rain check, (some people do 60+ boxes) this time I chose 20.

So, this week, I stopped in and picked up 20 boxes of name brand cereal (the good stuff: Kix, all different kinds of Chex, all different kinds of Cheerios, Reese's Puffs, Wheaties, Lucky Charms, etc) and I am talking an average of $4 per box normally, for just $1 each. I love those sales. Next time I am aiming for 60. We have really had fun taste testing kinds we have never chosen to buy before. If anything, they are great gifts for birthdays, christmas or kids. Keep an eye out for Albertson's, they have great deals sometimes.

So, here you are, asking yourself, why would Rachel post something so random? I don't know, I guess I just get excited about the simple pleasures in life.
