So, there I was trying to clean up the house a little bit because we were expecting an old friend for dinner and just as I was about to start dinner I decided to sit and check email for just a second. Up pops my outlook reminder "Kindergarten Open House tonight at 6:00pm" and it was now 6:08. I panicked. I had a guest coming in less than an hour, I have two other kids to worry about and because Eden is my oldest, I had no idea what to expect at this open house. I called a quick babysitter who lives right next door thankfully, ran out the door and bagged dinner figuring I would pick up a pizza on the way home.
We got there late, didn't miss much from what I hear and enjoyed touring the kindergarten classrooms and meeting teachers. Our favorite activity was the ride on the bus. Eden loved it. So here we are. The time has finally come for my babies to fly the coop (sort of) and head off to the big world of school. I am going to be a mess, crying my eyes out for weeks when she first sets foot on the bus for real. She is soooooooooooooo excited and she will be great, I know it. She looks bigger/older than the other kids who were there so that was interesting to me.
I made it home just in time to meet Rob as he pulled in with our old friend Drew Dalton from Medford and we enjoyed a late homemade dinner together. Talk about losing my mind. I hate being out of control. I would have taken pictures, had the perfect outfit picked out, been 10 minutes early and heck, I might have even had a shower instead of looking like a frazzled mommy for the event. Oh well, not all things go according to plan even though I try way too hard most of the time to make sure they do.

That is so my life sometimes...it's nice to know I'm normal.
