Scattered showers with a chance of thunderstorms...whuh? Doesn't sound like a happy Memorial Day to me but imagine our surprise that our Monday turned into some of the best outdoor weather we have had this spring. Breezy, warm and overcase with sunshine trying to peek through all day. We had some friends (Jason & Rachel Siemers and Jared & Angie Weatherhead) over for a typical Memorial Day BBQ and games. We spent every minute of our 9 hours together out on the back porch eating a feast of food and playing games that had us in hysterics. We played mad gab and one of the harder cards to guess was "Abe He Hemmed Hubble Hew" which interprets to "A BMW". We had some good laughs.
We had grilled corn on the cob, ribs, chicken teriyaki, grilled shrimp, hot dogs, pasta salad, chips, watermelon, strawberries, Memorial Oreo dessert, butterscotch brownies and limade. We all ate our fill and we hardly heard a word from the kids as they were in and out of the house playing all day. It was the perfect weather.

That sounds like so much fun. I especially like the forts.I can't wait to move closer so I can come visit. I should be up in Portland by September.
