Keeping up with the Zappe's

Our friends the Zappe's have an Ikea Pello Chair and everytime I go visit, I am drawn to that chair. I have always had my eye on them ever since my first visit to Ikea in Texas but at $50 a pop and then extra for a cushion cover, I have never made the purchase.

Well, leave it to me to find one at a yard sale. $8 baby!

The cushion was a little dirty and torn but I am handy, I am capable, I am She-Ra, princess of power! I was ready to tackle this project. I was actually giddy like a school girl and could hardly wait to get home.

The minute I walked in the door, I was swimming through my fabric bin hoping for the right fabric and there it was...Rob's mom's old shower curtain. Yeah! I knew I was holding onto it for something. In fact, once I had it all laid out over the chair cushion, it had about 2 inches to spare...it was made for this project in a former life.

So I cut, measured, pinned, washed, fixed the tear and in the end, I made this fabulous chair cover. It now matches our couch. And if you have never sat in one of these chairs, come on over and drool but you can't have it because for me, the less I have to pay for something, the more valuable it is to me.
