Thanks to the Howell family's blog, we were inspired to go and pick raspberries at Harvold Farms in Carnation. We headed out first thing in the morning and after a 40 minute drive and just 1 hour of picking, we managed to take home 21 1/2 pounds of fresh, humongous raspberries.

At $1.50/pound, we were pleased with our catch. The kids had a blast tearing through the rows and picking every berry at arms reach. I could not believe how many berries there were. I had an entire row all to myself. It was a beautiful, cool morning and it we enjoyed ourselves immensly.

I would say the largest downfall was the fact that I came home and realized that I had almost 22 pounds of VERY ripe berries that needed immediate attention. I spent the following 6 straight hours on my feet, making every raspberry concoction I had the ingredients and know-how to make. At 9:00pm last night I had 9 jars of freezer jam, 1 sour cream raspberry pie, 1 raspberry jello salad, 2 pans of frozen whole raspberries, 3 containers of raspberry sauce, a bowl for eating the next day, a pan full for making waffle sauce for breakfast and I gave two bowls away to the nieghbors. And all of that was after the kids ate their hearts out. I had no idea how much 22 pounds was. It was A LOT. I won't ever pick that many again unless I am prepared.
